reflexology and reflex zone therapy (RZT)

A little bit about what reflexology and reflex zone therapy (RZT) is.
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy; it is a touch therapy based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body.

The theory of reflexology is that all of the body’s systems and organs are reflected within the feet. Stimulating specific reflex points in the feet has a direct correlative effect on that area of the body. Reflex Zone Therapy (RZT) is a form of reflexology which uses a deeper pressure to maximize results.

There is much literature around how reflexology and RZT work. Research has shown that reflexology has the desired effect to reduce adrenaline and cortisol and increase the body’s natural levels of oxytocin when performed correctly using the correct pressure on the precise zones of the feet.

Reflexology is globally being used more in pregnancy, women are seeking to take back control of their birth experiences and look to alternative measures to encourage spontaneous labour.
